Amplify Careers: Senior Associate, Public Policy & Social Media

Amplify Public Affairs, LLC (APA), seeks a senior associate level professional to be responsible for supporting both corporate and non-profit clients with research, writing, and utilizing online tools, particularly Web. 2.0 technologies, to support public policy goals. Ideally, the candidate will have a Bachelors Degree and 3 plus years of grassroots and online advocacy experience including the use of Web 2.0 tools for e-advocacy, such as Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, Twitter and blogging. APA is seeking an excellent analytic writer who is familiar with public policy issues that include broadband--from privacy to net neutrality.

In addition, familiarity with the political blogosphere, with a particular focus on technology/broadband policy issues, is highly desirable.

The Senior Associate is expected to exhibit a strong work ethic and meet deadlines.  Excellent writing and online communication skills are key to this position.

The Senior Associate is a direct report to the Vice President, Internet and Social Media for overall client management, work priorities and performance.  In addition, the Senior Associate is expected to work with other client account managers on specific projects and activities.  This position has the potential to grow to the level of Director.

The Senior Associate, Public Policy & Social Media is responsible for:

  • Drafting and analyzing blog-postings, research materials, and policy analyses.
  • Using social media/Web 2.0 tools to enhance online campaigns.
  • Assisting with account management for assigned clients, including monthly work plans, progress reports and proposals.
  • Attending client meetings and events as required.
  • Developing and maintaining familiarity with client(s) business, industry and issues; and keeping team members and specific constituency informed as necessary.
  • Maintaining, strengthening and expanding relationships with key opinion leaders, and third parties, particularly those with an online presence.
  • Participating in third party stakeholder meetings, events and conferences as required.
  • Identifying new client and business opportunities for the firm and working on proposals, presentations and related client development activities.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
