APA's Jennifer Berk Demonstrates the Power of Social Media in the Workplace
The Capital Area Food Bank's Agency Achievement Academy and the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of DC jointly sponsored a March 4th presentation by Amplify's Jennifer Berk and Bread for the City's Matt Siemer on "Social Media at Work." Jennifer covered where social media can be helpful in the workplace, how to decide what social media tools to use, the tools that are available now, and how to respond to a social media firestorm. Attendees discussed her fictional food bank's use of social media to promote a campus fundraiser, and they heard from Siemer about the practicalities of blogging as a direct service organization and how the blog let him find three offers to donate a vacuum cleaner within 24 hours.
